Parramatta registered its first win in the top grade of Women’s Premier Cricket against Sydney at Merrylands Park.
The hosts defeated Sydney by 215 runs courtesy of a superb batting display. Elise Noble (65) and teenager Phoebe Litchfield (55) combined for a 102-run opening stand to lay the platform for an imposing total of 6/272.
In reply, Sydney were dismissed for a mere 57. Isabella Malgioglio (3-16) claimed best figures for Parramatta. She joined Renee Hebden (2-8) and Kate Peterson (2-20) as multiple wicket takers in the winning side.
Fifteen-year-old Sydney Sixers allrounder Hayley Silver-Holmes also showed tremendous maturity as captain of the victors. She scored 44 and returned economical figures of 1-8 from six overs.
